PhD student & Postdoc positions OPEN
We are accepting graduate students who are eager to study the brain-wide circuits for higher cognitive functions, how they are formed across learning, and how they are degraded associated with aging and psychiatric disorders.
The lab members will be able to learn various state-of-the-art techniques in neuroscience - in vivo calcium imaging, optogenetics, tissue clearing, light-sheet imaging, multi-channel electrophysiology recording - as well as animal behavioral training, surgical procedure, and programming (MATLAB, python, LabVIEW, etc).
For those who are interested in joining us, please contact
Graduate students:
Students are encouraged to apply to IGP-Neuroscience or LKCMedicine PhD Programme.
Our lab explores how brain circuits support executive functions, and we are excited to welcome PhD students with diverse interests. Current directions include (but are not limited to):
-
How neuromodulators shape cortical circuits for executive function
-
How brain-wide networks coordinate executive processes
-
How executive functions and their neural mechanisms are altered in schizophrenia models
-
How aging impairs executive circuits and how they can be rejuvenated
If your interests align with any of the above or if you are excited about a related direction, please feel free to reach out. We value students who bring new perspectives and ideas.
Postdoctoral researchers:
Applicants should have a PhD and/or MD with research experience in relevant fields of life sciences. Candidates are encouraged to apply to the following fellowships:
Postdoc fellowships
- Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) Postdoctoral Fellowships
*PI was a previous awardee and can provide advice.
